MICAT 2017 Result
MICAT 2017 Result – The final result of MICAT 2017 has been declared. Earlier, MICA Ahmedabad has declared the MICAT II result 2017 on February 22. Candidates can check MICAT result cum score card 2017 by entering their login id and password. MICAT II 2017 was held on February 12, 2017. MICAT result 2017 is declared in the form of scorecards. Based on MICAT result 2017, candidates has been shortlisted for the next round of admissions i.e. Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI), which was announced on February 23. The GE PI shortlist was common for both MICAT I and MICAT II candidates. The selection process was held from March 9 to 20. Earlier, the institute had announced MICAT I result 2017 on December 22. As many as 3908 candidates had taken the test out of 4453 registered candidates. MICAT-I was held on December 11, 2016.

What next after MICAT Result 2017
Shortlisted candidates are eligible for the selection process for PGDM-C 2017-18 which will be conducted twice.
First phase Group Exercise & Personal Interview (GE-PI) will be conducted at MICA campus from March 9 to 11, 2017 and the second phase of GE PI will be conducted in other cities from March 17 to 20, 2017.
How to Shortlist candidates for GE-PI
Candidates will qualify on the basis of Psychometric test.
After qualifying on the basis of Psychometric test, candidates will be assessed for MICAT sections on Verbal ability, Quantitative ability, General awareness and Divergent-Convergent Reasoning.
Those who qualify on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in Scaled Score in each of the sections namely: VA, QA,GA and DCR will be evaluated on Descriptive Test.
Those who qualify on the basis of the above criteria and on the basis of relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off in Scaled Score in DT will be considered for for GE and PI. List of shortlisted candidates will be prepared on the basis of MICAT I and /or MICAT II or better of the two scores if a candidate has taken both MICAT I and MICAT II.
Approximately 1/10th of the total number of candidates who appear in the two MICATs will be shortlisted for GE & PI based on the Total MICAT Scaled Score.
How to Calculate MICAT Scaled Score
The score obtained individually by a candidate 'X' in a particular component of MICAT-1/MICAT-2 , e.g.. Verbal Ability (VA) will be converted into Scaled Score using the following sample formula for one of the components, i.e. ,VA:
Scaled Score -VA of a candidate 'X' in MICAT-1/MICAT-2 = (Score -VA of the candidate 'X'/Maximum obtained by any candidate amongst the candidates who have appeared in MICAT-1/MICAT-2 in VA) multiplied by Maximum possible Score in VA in MICAT-1/MICAT-2.
Similarly Scaled Scores will be calculated for all the MICAT-1/MICAT-2 components using sample formula in point i) namely: VA, QA, GA,DCR and DT.
Total MICAT-1/MICAT-2 score will be calculated using Scaled Scores for each of the MICAT components, namely: VA, QA, GA, DCR and DT
How MICAT Merit List is Prepared
All those candidates who appear in GE and PI , and fulfill the following conditions will be considered for the merit list:
Unanimous recommendation by all the panel members of PI.
At least 3.5 or more on a 5 point scale in GE
At least 4 or more on a 5 point scale in PI
50 per cent weightage is given to the MICAT scores, 18 per cent to GE score, 30 per cent to PI score and two per cent to the scaled score of CAT/XAT/GMAT is given to prepare the final merit list.

The Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds are conducted to assess a candidate’s overall personality, thought process, ability to work in a team, knowledge, determination, maturity and fit into the culture of MICA. MICA Ahmedabad conducts MICAT, a national level management test, for admissions to its post graduate diploma management in communication (PGDM-C) programme for 180 seats.
