GMATAbout GMAT 2014 : The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a computer adaptive test (CAT) which assesses a candidate’s analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in standard written English in preparation for being admitted into a graduate management program, such as an MBA. It is an international MBA entrance exam.

GMAT Eligibility:
There is no particular eligibility criteria for taking GMAT exam. The candidates must be above 18 years of age while taking the GMAT exam.

GMAT Selection Procedure:
The candidates will receive their scores right after completing the test. The test scores will be valid for 5 years. After getting shortlisted, the final selection of the candidates will be based on the multiple rounds of selection process such as Statement of Purpose, Letters of Recommendation, Personal Interview and or other rounds conducted by the B-schools.

GMAT Exam Pattern:
GMAT is a Computer Adaptive Test where the candidates will receive questions one by one and the difficulty level and score of the exam will depend on the accuracy of your previous answer. If you answer the first question correctly, the next question will be of higher difficulty level. If your answer is wrong, you will receive a question of lower difficulty level. The GMAT exam pattern is as given in the table below:

GMAT Application Procedure: Candidates have to register for the GMAT at the GMAC website. To schedule an exam, an appointment has to be made at one of the designated test centers. The GMAT may not be taken more than once within 31 days, even if the scores are canceled.

GMAT Application Fee:
The cost of the exam is USD 250.

GMAT Important Dates:
GMAT is a round the year test and a candidate can take it any time of the year as many times they want. However there should be a gap of at least 31 days between 2 GMAT attempts. You cannot take GMAT more than 5 times in 1 year.

GMAT Result:
The GMAT result will be available right at the end of the test. The candidate will have the option of accepting it or declining it. If the candidate accepts it, they will get the score which both them and the participating institutes can view. If they decline it, the scores will not be visible to any.
