IIM Raipur PGP Admission Eligibility Criteria 2014-16

IIM Raipur has announced the admission criteria for the flagship programme Post Graduate Programme (PGP) 2014-16 batch. The admission will take place on the basis of CAT 2013 scores followed by Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. According to the IIM Raipur PGP Eligibility 2014-16, the overall CAT 2013 cut off is 90 percentile. Last year the cut off was 80 percentile. Criteria for Short listing for Personal Assessment (WAT & PI) Process

The tentative CAT 2013 cut off percentile for IIM Raipur will be as follows:

IIM Raipur mentions that the admission committee will decide the number of shortlisted candidates to be called for the PA round. “However, if the actual number of shortlisted candidates were found to be less (more) than the required number of candidates to be called for PI/WAT category-wise, then the overall as well as section wise minimum score would be reduced (increased) to get the desired number of candidates,” IIM Raipur informs.

There will be a Common Admission Process (CAP) for the 6 new IIMs which will be coordinated by IIM Trichy this year. After the CAP round, the final merit list will be declared.

The CAT scores and the WAT/PI performance will be given equal weight of 40%. The profile of the candidate will have 20% weight.

On a similar scale, the SC, ST and DAP candidates’ scores will be given weightage in a range of <55 to 88.01>, <50 to 82.01> and <55 to 88.01> respectively.

Diversity

IIM Raipur states, “While merit is the prime consideration, IIM Raipur also wishes to promote diversity in its PGP. Hence, it strives to ensure a better balance between gender and among various academic disciplines.”

Female candidates will be awarded 20% of the profile weight as per the diversity factor.

The students studying in the following academic disciplines will also be given 20% of the weight as per the diversity factor.

  • Arts/Humanities: Anthropology, Archaeology, Economics, Education, Geography, History, Languages, Liberal arts, Law, Library and Information Science, Mass Communication and Journalism, Music, Philosophy, Performing Arts (Dance/Drama/Theatre), Literature, Physical Education, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Social Work, Statistics, etc.

  • Commerce: Accountancy, Auditing, Banking, Chartered Accountancy, Costs and Works Accountancy, etc.

  • Science: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Zoology, etc.

  • Others: Medicine, Pharmacy and Management etc.
