IIM Ranchi Summer Placement Report 2014

Sector wise Placement
Marketing sector recruited maximum students from the batch which accounted to 31% followed by HR (27%) and Finance (22%). Operations/General Management (14%) and Consulting (6%) followed suit.

This sector saw 22% recruitment. Several new recruiters also joined the league. A private equity firm with UK operations and a boutique investment bank recruited from this B-School. New recruiters hired for the roles of Treasury, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Equity Research, Credit Research and Project Finance.
Prominent recruiters were HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, Societe Generale, ICICI, Yes Bank, Kotak Mahindra, ING Vyasya, First Rand Bank, Fullerton Securities, Unicon Securities and IL&FS.
Sales & Marketing
Along with the regular recruiters, several new companies also participated in the process. A manufacturer of snowmobiles, ATV and neighbourhood electric vehicles based out of the US recruited exclusively from IIM Ranchi. An international sports retailer and manufacturer also recruited from IIM Ranchi for the role of marketing. Niche profiles were offered in the domains of Sports Management, International Marketing, Brand Management, Retail Management and E-Commerce.
The top recruiters were Reckitt Benckiser, Dabur, Britannia, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Pidilite, HT Media, Lois Vuitton, Becton Dickinson, GSK Pharma, Biocon and Dun & Bradstreet.
Consulting & Analytics
The top recruiters in this domain were PwC, Hewlett & Packard, IBM, KPMG, Index Advisory, Datawise and IL&FS.
Operations & General Management
Close to 14% of the batch took up offer in this domain. The roles offered were General Management, Manufacturing Operations, Packaging, Strategic Sourcing, Cargo Consolidation, Distribution and Supply Chain Management.
The prominent recruiters of this domain were Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, RPG, JSPL, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti, Blue Star, TCIL, Godfrey Philips, Royal Orchid Hotels and Jharcraft.
Summer internship for PGDHRM programme students also took place in a full fledged way. They were offered roles in HR Consulting, Leadership Consulting, Strategic Staffing, Organizational Restructuring, Talent Management, Industrial Relations and PMS.
The prominent recruiters for this batch were Michael Page, RPG, Beckton Dickinson, UB Spirits, Heidrick and Struggles, ABC Consultants, HT Media, Mizuho Securities, Maruti, Godfrey Philips, Escorts, WWF, Berger Paints, IL&FS, Globe Capital and Stanton Chase. KPMG offered live projects to 6 students of the PGDHRM batch.
