CMAT 2017 was held on January 28 in as many as 62 cities of India. The common management admission test (CMAT), administered by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in online mode was conducted for three hours, where the computer-based test began at 9:30 am. The candidates, however, were required to report to their respective examination centres at least an hour before the commencement of the MBA admission test. According to different media reports, around 70,000 candidates appeared for CMAT 2017.

How was CMAT 2017 paper?
The CMAT online paper had as many as 100 questions with four answer options given against each of them. These 100 questions were divided among four sections namely Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness, where each of these sections had equal number of questions, i.e., 25. Each question carried four marks, therefore the total marks for CMAT 2017 online paper was 400.
What is the marking scheme of CMAT 2017?
Candidates will be awarded four marks for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for wrong attempt. Questions which were left un-attempted will be given zero (0) marks, as per the CMAT Exam Pattern.
What now after conduct of CMAT 2017?
Now candidates have appeared for CMAT 2017, they need to concentrate on the next steps of the selection process of CMAT, which involves Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).
But before going through these selection rounds, candidates will have to wait for CMAT result and CMAT merit list based on which the B-Schools will be inviting those candidates who meet the CMAT cut off marks.
