The Department of Management Studies (DoMS), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras has completed its final placement process for its outgoing management batch of 2015-17. The placement week at DoMS, IIT Madras was attended by top corporates across domains including BFSI, Consulting, Manufacturing, E-Commerce, IT/ITES among others. A total of 56 students registered for the placement procedure and companies attending the placement drive offered 15 PPOs/PPIs.
The Management batch consists of 59 students in total, having an average work experience of 23 months in different domains ranging from automobile, BFSI, Cosnulting, IT/ITES and Manufacturing. The salaries offered at the DoMS, IIT Madras placement drive also witnessed an overall increase. The average salary increased by 11 per cent while the median salary saw an increase of 9 per cent. The highest salary also increased by 6 per cent.

Banking firms like ICICI, HSBC and RBS gave offers to 18 per cent of the total participating candidates. The profiles ranged from Financial Analyst to Relationship Managers.
Roles in Supply Management and Business Data Analysts were offered to 20 per cent of the batch by companies like Ford, Titan etc.
Amazon, Carwale and FSS, the top recruiters in this field, offered roles like Product or Program Managers to 11 per cent of the batch.
Dominated by Wipro, CTS and Dell, this sector saw offered posts like Data Scientists and Business Analysts to 27 per cent of the students.
The second most awarding sector in terms of the jobs offered, this field saw recruiters like Google, McKinsey, Cisco, Mu Sigma, PwC, and Vistuasa offering consulting and product analysis roles to 24 per cent of the batch.
