Xavier University, Bhubaneswar (XUB) organised its third convocation on March 22, 2017. Studied from various schools of the Xavier University, a total of 649 students graduated from the batch of 2017. The following were the main fields of study in which the students graduated:

The convocation was attended by Mr. Vinod Kumar, Managing Director and Group CEO of Tata Communications Limited, as the Chief Guest. Among other distinguished personalities present at the ceremony were Mr. Rajive Kaul, Chairman NICCO Corporation Limited, Kolkata and the Chairman of Xavier University, Bhubaneswar and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB). Noted academicians, senior government officials and corporate leaders who are part of XUB Board of Directors were also present at the occassion.
The convocation started with the welcome address delivered by Fr. E.A. Augustine, S.J. Registrar, XUB. The Vice Chancellor report was then presented by Dr. Prof.Fr. Paul Fernandes S.J. who talked about inception of Xavier City Campus of the Xavier University on July 7, 2014 with the purpose of delivering industry driven management education through the six schools of management it hosts, offering Doctoral, Masters and Under-Graduate programmes. XIMB was setup to lead the country in management education by promoting research and innovation. Congratulating the batch of 2017, he encouraged students to be the light to the world by always progressing with faith and hard work.
Fr. E.A. Augustine urged students to “focus on future, always stay true to yourself and enable other people to lead extraordinary lives.” The Chief Guest advised the students about career planning and emphasised on the significance of team work for corporate success. “Be value based first, and performance oriented thereafter,” he added.
